Twitteratis Share Meme And Jokes On Announcement Of Revocation Of Article 370

Home Minister Amit Shah introduced a resolution in Rajya Sabha to remove Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. With the introduction of the resolution letter, a ruckus started in the Rajya Sabha and the proceedings had to be postponed. It was already expected that the government could make a big announcement amidst the ongoing stir over Kashmir. The resolution letter to remove Article 370 was presented in the Rajya Sabha by Home Minister Amit Shah today. According to this resolution letter, all clauses except one section will be removed. Several opposition parties including Congress, TMC, JDS, RJD have opposed the government’s resolution letter.

Jammu and Kashmir has been given special state status under Article 370. The powers of the central government are limited to defense, foreign affairs and communication due to special status. Due to this special provision, a separate constitution of Jammu and Kashmir was implemented in 1956.

Since the news out, Twitter has become the ground to share memes and jokes over this. So, here is a compilation of humour being shared by twitteratis around the world.

Future generations will realize what a grave mistake this house is making today.”

Constitution expert Subhash Kashyap on Article 370 saysI can only say, constitutionally it is sound, no  constitutional fault can be found in it. Government has carefully studied the matter. As for the question, if it’s a political decision, I have nothing to say on that.
