Tattoos are prevalent in the society since the Neolithic times, but it became trendy after 2000s. Even celebrities are fond of inking tattoos. 1. Savio D’silva’s Fine Art Studio
Savio D’silva who has 35 years of experience in the field is a fine artist who completed his graduation from JJ School of Arts in 1998. He excels in sketching from memory and his computer-free studio is proof of that. Staying true to his principles, Talking about his style, “That’s my style—drawing from memory. Because I’m an illustrator and a fine artist, I cut across any style, whether it’s hyper-realistic or stylised.” His studio is a one man team that only creates one figurative freehand design in a day.
2. Al’s Tattoo Studio
Anthony and Lena’s studio runs with a group of professional designers. His designers belong to different part of the world. He has created the ‘Angry Shiva’ tattoo for Sanjay Dutt. His clients also include Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s ‘Swastika’ tattoo. And sisters Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora Ladak have also inked finger tattoos from Al’s.
On getting popularity, he says that getting inked has seen a rise even among cops, clinic staff and domestic help. He adds, people are also inking tattooes to cover up scars of surgery.
3. Kraayonz Tattoo Studio
Kangana Ranaut, Hrithik Roshan, Virat Kohli and Dia Mirza are the clients of the studio. The studio was started 18 years ago by one of the oldest tattoo artists in the country, Kraayonz Tattoo Studio. Its branches now in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Kangana modified the tattoo at the nape of her neck. Hrithik along with his then-wife Suzanne, opted for a twinning Star of Davids tattoo from the studio.
4. Alien’s Tattoo
Alien’s Tattoo is famous for their realistic and hyper-realistic tattoos. They are mastered in creating traveller’s tattoos, portraits and couple tattoos, caricatures. The man who has established the studio is Sunny Bhanushali and his clients include Indian cricket team, including captain Virat Kohli. The studio runs with the team of 14 tattoo artists.
5. Body Canvas
Apart from popular permanent and temporary versions, people get inked for aesthetic purposes also. Also, one kind of tattoo which is clinical type to cover up scars, birthmarks and vitiligo is famous. Vikas and Mickey Malani excel in creating these type of tattoos. Sidharth Malhotra, Violet Chachki, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan are their clients.
