Anand Mahindra Impressed with Low-Cost Tractor, Willing to Finance Innovators

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group is truly a fan of few interesting things made out of creativity. His tweets will prove the same and he often encourages people coming out with such ideas. In recent times, the Chairman of Mahindra Group took his official microblogging website to share the story of Mahesh Karmali, a Jharkhand-based man. 

The interesting thing is that he built a low-cost tractor from a scooter that assists him to plough 12-kattah of farmland [approximately 4000 square meters.] Soon after knowing about the low-cost tractor, the 64-year old businessman took his official social media account to help more such innovators across the country.

He gave a suggestion to help such talented innovators in a systematic manner. Anand Mahindra further added that he would like to be a part of an initiative that renders technical assistance seed finance to people making the life of struggling folks easy through their budget-friendly innovations.

The business tycoon also said that he is intended to call this project ‘Mahindra Garage’ that aids people both in a physical and virtual manner. Anand Mahindra wrote, ‘This country is filled with people like Mahesh who possess the DNA of innovation. Should we set up a more systematic way of helping such innovators? A Mahindra ‘Garage,’ both physical & virtual, which provides technical support & seed finance?’

During an interview, the 33-year old Mahesh said that he was a drop-out from an elementary school with an intention to assist his family through farming. After selling the oxen, he thought of an affordable plan in building a low-cost tractor. Mahesh was actually a mechanic earlier with an experience of 7 years. He also designed ‘Power Tiller’ in a span of just 3 days and spent Rs. 12000 to build the mini tractor. This tractor can plow 8,640 sq ft of land using 2.5 liters of petrol.

Mahindra usually gets astonished and excited at the time of watching such innovative things happening in our nation. In the month of June, he shared a TikTok video that featured a filled plastic bottle hung on a door used as a hydraulic system to close the door.
