Ranu Mondal became star with Lata’s song, but its lyricist Santosh Anand lives anonymously

Ranu Mohdal has become an overnight singing sensation for her soulful rendition of the song ‘Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai”, that was sung by legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar.

But another person, who is deeply associated with this super-duper hit song is leading an anonymous life.

Santosh Anand, the lyricist of the song “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai,” is leading a painful life as per some reliable sources.

The veteran artist is almost forgotten these days and recently at a Kavi Sammelan, he said that there were a lot of people who has been calling him to talk about a woman who begs on the streets sang his song, and how she got an opportunity to sing a song in Himesh Reshammiya’s movie.

The lyricist said that he doesn’t even have a smart phone to get a glimpse of her performance.

Santosh Anand also revealed that he stopped writing songs during the year 1995. He himself confined to the premises inside his house after his son and daughter-in-law committed the suicide.

When his friends approached him to do some LIVE stage performances once again, the lyricist said that the current songs do not have that unique element.

He also stated that marketing has taken over the place of art, and moreover, it has brought impurity to the art. He participated in poet conferences to manage his household expenses and his life was full of struggle.

Having a good literature background really helped him to write good songs and all his collaborations with Lakshmikant Pyarelal were a huge success.

At the same time, Ranu Mondal will be giving vocals to the song “Teri Meri Kahani” for Himesh Reshammiya’s forthcoming movie “Happy Hardy and Heer”. She has already recorded the song with Himesh in his studio.

Himesh has also shared the video of the recording on his social media handle, which has turned viral in no time.
