The 66th National Film Awards for the year 2019 has been announced and this is one of the most awaited ceremonies for the film fans across the country.
The movie that features Ayushmann Khuranna and Radhika Apte has won the best film award during the 66th National Film Awards Ceremonial that was announced today.
The movie Uri: The Surgical Strike, which was directed by Aditya Dhar has grabbed four awards, which includes the best actor, the best sound design, best background music and the best direction. This has been a major achievement for the movie from the 2019 National Film Awards.
Bollywood actors Ayushmann Kurranna and Vicky Kaushal have shared the award for the best actor and this honor was for their performance in Andhadhun and Uri: The Surgical Strike.
The movie Andhadhun is directed by Sriram and it also won the award for the best Hindi film at the Indian film festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The movie stars Tabu, Ayshmann Kurrana, Anil Dhawan and Radhika Apte and is regarded as a murder drama that has a series of mysterious events that occurs in the life of a pianist who is blind. He accidentally gets embroiled in the murder of a past film actor and this really makes a twist in the movie.
Padmaavat bagged three honors at the 66th National Film Awards. The film pocketed Best Music Direction, Choreography and Male Playback Singer honor in 2019.
Jury head Rahul Rawail, non-feature movie jury head AS Kanal, panel head for the best writing Utpal Borjpuari were also present during the declaration of National Film Awards 2019.
The National Film Awards are one of the most prominent awards in India and are given mainly to 31 different categories. The 66th National Film Awards were to be held in April, but had to be changed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry post the Lok Sabha election 2019. Even though the award winners are announced in the month of April, the Award distribution ceremony takes place on the 3rd of May every year.
