In a recent move, a fine of Rs 25,000 has been imposed on hotel JW Marriott in Chandigarh by the Excise and Taxation Department of the Union Territory for over charging actor Rahul Bose for fruits served to him, while he was in the hotel.
After being charged Rs 442 for 2 bananas at JW Marriott, Rahul was quite surprised and shocked.
He took on Twitter with a short video with the special tweet, “You have to see this to believe it. Who said fruit wasn’t harmful to your existence? Ask the wonderful folks at @JWMarriottChd #goingbananas #howtogetfitandgobroke #potassiumforkings.”
In his post on Twitter, the 51 year old actor narrated his experience of paying Rs 442 for two bananas at this five star hotel in Chandigarh.
Rahul’s tweet really created a wave among the online users and his fans and they couldn’t hold themselves back from sharing his tweets and really made a buzz with “Rahul Bose moments”. More fans started responding and sharing his tweets and it turned out to be an instant hit on the internet.
Excise and Taxation Department of the Union Territory imposed the fine on the hotel after the authorities were not able to give a satisfactory reply on the show cause notice that was served over the issue.
R K Chaudhry, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner, UT Chandigarh stated, “In this matter, a showcase notice was issued to the hotel management. They were called today for the reply. But they could not give a satisfactory reply. So after hearing, they have been imposed with the fine.”
Ultimately, the efforts of Rahul Bose got the results that is very well deserved and the five star hotel needs to pay this fine to get over this. If Rahul hadn’t shared this incident, it will keep on happening to each and every common people.
