Currently, India’s wealthiest family Ambanis are in the news after they announced their youngest son Akash Ambani’s engagement with diamond merchant Russell Mehta’s daughter Shloka Mehta.
After an intimate engagement ceremony, the Ambanis hosted a lavish post-engagement bash for their son which was one star-studded affair. The bash witnessed the who’s who of Bollywood and cricket fraternity to wish the adorable couple for their new phase in their life.
Akash and Shloka make a lovely pair and now, everyone in the nation wants to know about the ‘daughter-in-law of Ambani family’. News portals can’t stop gushing about the newly engaged couple. Anyways, let’s take a moment to have a look at another love story of the Ambani family which is no less than a fairytale. It is none other than Mukesh and Nita’s love story.
Well, we often hear that either the boy or the girl leaves a long-lasting impression on each other which tends to make them come close. But here Nita made a great impact on Mukesh’s mom and dad which led things to next level. It was then Mukesh came into the picture. Mukesh’s parents were smitten by Nita’s Bharatnatyam show and they so wanted to have her as their daughter-in-law.
After being approached with a proposal to marry Mukesh, Nita, who belonged to a middle-class family, was not on cloud nine. She remained grounded and had her own conditions and never agreed to marry Mukesh for his wealth and status.
Like any other common family, things started on a quite traditional note when Dhirubhai asked for the girl’s hand in marriage. He called up Nita and introduced himself which Nita did not believe at first. Finally, Dhirubhai spoke to Nita’s father and discussed further things. After their discussion, Nita’s and Mukesh’s courtship began.
It was quite a difficult phase for Nita-Mukesh as they were busy with their work commitments which gave them minimal time to spend with each other. However, the couple tried to keep the romance flowing in the middle of the entire time crisis.
Talking about the proposal and who took an initiative. It was Mukesh who stepped forward to express his feelings and ask Nita for marriage. However, the proposal was quite a filmy one. This delightful day happened when the couple was on a date where Mukesh took Nita for a drive and that is when he lovingly and unrealistically stopped his car and asked Nita, “Will you marry me?” Nita was taken aback when Mukesh said, “Tell me now or I won’t start the car.” How can anyone not agree when someone is asking you out with so much of love. Nita lovingly accepted Mukesh’s proposal.
The couple finally took wedding wows in 1985 when Nita was just 20 years old as per Gujarati rituals. Mukesh and Nita are happily married and have three kids, Anant, Akash, and Isha.
