Padmaavat was initially titled as Padmavati and was slated to release on December 1, 2017. But due to constant protest by Rajput groups and ban by various state governments, the movie was pushed to January 25 and was titled as Padmaavat. The movie has now been released.
The Ghoomar Song from the movie was released to increase buzz for the film and it has worked perfectly for the film as the song has gained popularity worldwide. With a huge number of views on YouTube, the increasing number of performances on Ghoomar that are taking place globally is also great.
The latest addition to that list is Mayuri Bhandari’s performance!
She is a dancer from Rajasthan and uploaded a video on Instagram and a YouTube video with the description, “In honor of the film Padmaavat’s release, here is my ice skating tribute to the beautiful song Ghoomar! As a Rajasthani, I skate to this song with pride!”

Padmaavat is a movie based on the life of Mewar’s royal Queen Padmini. During the shoot of the film due to some rumors, the film started facing oppositions from the Rajput groups. The opposition has become so intense that various state governments have banned the film’s release but it seems everything has settled down as the groups have withdrawn their protest after seeing the movie.
The film stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Allaudin Khilji.
