10 Punjabi Songs which were recreated for Bollywood and Became Hits

You must have danced to the Punjabi beats of many Bollywood songs. But did you know that many of them are not the originals, but have been recreated from beautiful Punjabi songs?

Here’s the list of 10 such Punjabi songs  which were recreated for Bollywood and Became Hits:

1- Soch (Airlift):

People fell in love with ‘Soch’ from Akshay Kumar’s Airlift (2016). Little did they know that there was a much beautiful version of it in Punjabi already existing and ruling the hearts of Punjabi Music listeners. The original song was given by Hardy Sandhu in 2013 which is still one of the favourites of many.

2- Suit-Suit (Hindi Medium):

We all have danced to Suit Suit from Irrfan Khan’s 2017 release Hindi Medium. The song has been recreated from Punjabi song given by Guru Randhawa months before the Bollywood version came out.

3- Ohho Ohho (Hindi Medium):

Another amazing song from Hindi Medium is ‘Ohho Ohho’. It was originally sung by Sukhbir and it was a popular song from our childhood.

4- Sadi Gali (Tanu Weds Manu):

Sadi Gali from Tanu Weds Manu was being played in every wedding function and in every party. But not many people knew that this song too was taken from Punjab sung by RDB.

5- Aja Mahi (Singh Is Bling):

Beautiful song Aja Mahi from Singh Is Bling too was originally sung by RDB years before the release of Akshay Kumar’s film release.

6- Mai Tera boyfriend (Raabta):

I personally was in love with ‘Na na na na’ song given by J-Star in 2015. And then, Bollywood spoilt it for me by recreating it for the film ‘Raabta’ (2017).

7- High Heels (Ki and Ka):

Arjun Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan danced to the beets of High Heels in 2016 film Ki and Ka. The song was recreated from Honey Singh’s Hit Punjabi song ‘High Heels’ which was released in 2012. Well Yeah!

8- Saturday Saturday (Humpty Sharma KI Dulhania):

Saturday Saturday from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was the party song of the year 2014. But the song was initially sung by Indeep Bakshi featuring Badshaah, 2 years before the Bollywood remake.

9- Mai tenu Samjavan Ki (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania):

And here’s another song from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania titled ‘Samjhavan’. The original song was sung by Rahet Ali Khan for film ‘Virsa’ some 5 years back.

10- Ban Ja Tu Meri Rani (Tumhari Sullu):

And the latest is Tumhari Sullu’s song ‘Ba ja rani’. The original song was given by Guru Randhawa a year back.

How many of these you already knew?
