Dominic Wilcox Invents A Unique Glass For Short People

Short people sometimes misses out the best part of what’s happening up on the stage. They are not able to see over people’s heads at music concerts or festivals. Also, they need to rely on others to ask for help to reach things on high shelves in supermarkets or keeping at home. Whenever they go for a movie to watch, they need booster seats. Also in car, they need booster seats while driving. But, turns out this problem may be more common than we think. Eccentric inventor Dominic Wilcox who is a British artist has invented a pair of glasses that may help to the people who are not tall.

Earlier, the know way to deal with this problem plastic surgery or massive platform shoes but now, inventor Dominic Wilcox has come up with a pair of glasses to deal with this problem. His invention is a ‘One Foot Taller Periscope’ glasses and it will work using mirrors. It is for all who are looking for the answer of a major height disadvantage. Going by the name, the glasses allow the user to see things one foot taller, (30.5 cm), than their normal eye level. He got the inspiration even being a tall man from experience.

“I was challenged by Microsoft Surface to think up some everyday problems and come up with some interesting or extraordinary solutions, It was for an exhibition in London in May. A few weeks earlier, I was at a gig standing near the back and I noticed a small woman dancing behind me who clearly couldn’t see the band because of all the tall people around. This gave me the idea to try to solve that problem. Also, I think we’ve all been at the cinema and someone big sits in front and blocks the view, this device could help, as long as you don’t block the view of the person behind you! ” – Dominic told a popular website in an interview.

“I did have about five attempts at making the finished object. I cut my finished design out of a sheet of mirrored plastic then very carefully heated and bent the parts into the correct angles to reflect the light from up high, down to the eyes. I quite enjoyed working out how to make this quite unusual and functional object from one single sheet.” he added.

With this glasses, the wearer will be able to see a rectangle in the centre of their vision of the higher view.Whether this glass will be available to public or not, it is to see!
