Here Is The Reason Why December 19 Is The Saddest Day in Virat’s Life

Virat Kohli is one of the most skilled and renowned Cricketers in the world. Ever since 2014, he is an exceptional form which has made him the Captain of Indian Team. Recently, Virat tied the knot with much loved Anushka Sharma and the world is congratulating the duo.

Ever since he took Captaincy under the guidance of ex-captain M.S. Dhoni, he has taken the team to new heights, such that now the team is among top 3 in all three formats. He has also set personal milestones and is said to be the only cricketer who has the capability to gain the glory of records like Legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Many may not know that today, December 19 is the day which made Virat what he is today. It goes back in 2006 when young Virat was playing for Ranji between hosts Delhi and Karnataka. The 18-year-old Virat was unbeaten at 40 and had many responsibilities as his team still needed 192 Runs to avoid the follow-on.

However, something happened in the morning next day which shook Virat forever and turned his life upside-down. He received the news that his friend, mentor, and life-support, his father Prem Kohli had passed away. Like every son, he was blank and had left the ground sometime for cremation ceremony of his father. Soon, he returned back with sad, blank look on the ground and batted with the heavy heart.

He was not speaking anything but his bat did speak everything about his sadness, he got out at massive 90 and made his side safe.

This was the day when it was not about the runs, it was about determination and dedication people saw in Virat that day which shaped his future in such a way that today he is one of the most loved and respected cricketers. He has a net worth of approx $22 M and a brand value of $92 M which is the second highest brand value of any personality in India.

We are sorry for the loss Virat faced years ago. His father must be seeing how his son has grown up as a legend in his country.
