Lalu Prasad Yadav Found Guilty in Fodder Scam Case, Taken into Police Custody

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been found guilty in Fodder Scam Case. The sentencing will be announced on January 3.

Lalu Prasad was among the 15 of the 22 accused found guilty by a special CBI court in Ranchi for the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the Deoghar district treasury between 1994 and 1996. The convicts were taken into custody immediately after the pronouncement of the verdict.

According to ANI, Seven of the accused, including former Bihar CM Jagannath Mishra, were acquitted.

Before the verdict, Lalu said that he respects the country’s courts. “We trust and respect the judiciary. We will not let BJP’s conspiracies work. The way things happened in the 2G case, they way they happened for Ashok Chavan, the same will happen for me,” he said.

After Lalu was found guilty, Manoj Jha of RJD said, “I believe in judiciary but in this case, CBI was arranging prosecution. Legally admissible evidence provided by us were set aside.”

He further said, “Kind of evidences we have, we’ll get redressal at a higher court. Politically I know this regime, they have this typical Standard Operating Procedure-Try to make a deal with your opposition, if you fail…scare them. Want to tell them-Your end has begun.”

Police has taken Lalu Prasad into custody.
