Man steals a bag from Delhi Airport and flies to Pune, asked to go back to Delhi to return the bag

A private firm administrative thought that he had managed to escape with the stole goods at the nation capital’s airport.

However when he reached Pune with a female’s handbag he had shoplifted from a store at Delhi airport, security staff was waiting for him.

The traveler got arrested and he confessed that he snatched the bag from a big store in Terminal 3 before taking his flight. After that, he was made to return to the nation capital by the next trip to give back the bag.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was notified regarding the robbery by the administrator of the superstore on December 10.

A CISF officer, requesting anonymity, stated, “We were told about the incident at 2.45pm that someone picked up a bag from the shop located in the domestic retail area of Terminal 3. The cost of the bag was around ₹7,000. We scanned the CCTV footage and traced the movement of that passenger. He picked the bag at 1.15am and proceeded for boarding. He boarded the Jet Airways flight for Pune at 2.15pm.”

The CISF got the handset number of traveler from airline’s program and tried many times to call up the traveler but could not hook up as the flight was already above ground.

“In the meantime, we informed the CISF staff at Pune airport and shared his name and photo with them. The store manager lodged a complaint with Delhi Police. As the flight landed at Pune at 4.40pm, the passenger was immediately detained,” the CISF official added up.

During questioning the passenger admitted to the crime and was asked to go back to Delhi immediately. He booked for 8.15pm flight and reached Delhi by 10.30pm to return the bag.

“He was handed over to the police,” the CISF official added up.

But , the police officials did not lodge FIR as the store has withdrawn its complaint after getting the bag back.
