The hopes of the release of 2017’s most controversial flick “Padmavati” lightened up in a significant manner with the censor panel and the movie makers arriving at a contract to modify the name to “Padmavat”, carry two conditions and alter a song sequence boasting the queen of Mewat.
The report stated that the Central Board of Film Certification has given a “U/A” certificate to the movie after it watched the movie on December 28 evening and recommended five alterations and not over a dozen modifications as guessed. The screening of the flick was attended by CBFC head Prasoon Joshi and the movie has been inspected by a board of professionals.
According to a release issued by the CBFC, “The panel had a get-together of their probing board on December 28 and made a decision to give the movie a UA certification along with some modifications and likely change of the film’s title on the basis the attributed material/creative source.”
Though anti-Padmavati activists such as Karni Sena, which has stated the movie fakes happenings linking to the medieval queen as well as Alauddin Khilji, and a few well-known ex-regals carry on holding out, the conversations between the censor panel and movie maker Viacom and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali mark a step forward, which can pave the way for the movie’s screening, comprising in states where administrations have declared for a ban.

The censor board stated, on December 30, that it has started the procedure for allotting a U/A certificate to the movie. This will be done once the film producer alters the name to “Padmavat”, which clarifies that it is based on the literature poem of the similar name.
The special board comprised Arvind Singh from Udaipur, Dr Chandramani Singh, and professor K K Singh of the Jaipur University.

Mr. Joshi stated that the movie was viewed together with a special board of historiographers that gave its “viewpoint” on the issue.
“There are no cuts suggested in this film by CBFC, only five modifications. The incorrect or misleading reference to historical places must be modified.”
