“I felt like an outsider on sets of Padmaavat,” says Shahid

Film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s affection for the well known actor Ranveer Singh and actress Deepika Padukone is broadly acknowledged.

The ace movie maker has worked with the multi talented actors Ranveer and Deepika in two of his super hit films, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani, before this epic saga, Padmaavat, and shares a brilliant connection with them.

It was this ease and companionship that resulted in the third actor of the major blockbuster, Padmaavat, Shahid Kapoor, sensing like a stranger.

In an interview with media people, Shahid Kapoor disclosed, “I’m used to being the favourite of all my filmmakers. This was the first time that I was like an outsider. When you work with a team that has worked together, you are kind of an outsider and it takes time for you to break through that barrier.”

The actor, who dons the character of Maharawal Ratan Singh in the movie, Padmaavat, stated that he finally had a “wonderful time” and enjoyed being pushed to the boundary by the film maker.

“The best thing about Sanjay sir is that he is ruthless in his creative desire. He is extremely intuitive towards artistes and his craft. And he doesn’t care whether it is 4 am or midnight, or whether it is 82 days or 100 days or what the cost of one day’s shooting is or if someone is emotionally spent,” Shahid Kapoor added up.

Padmaavat is a re-imagining of Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s heroic verse Padmavat, composed during the sixteenth century. The movie, which hit the theaters on January 25, is setting new records at the box office.

Shahid Kapoor, who dons Maharana Rawal Singh has been bagging incredible praise for his great work by his buffs.

Buffs have been making tweets to the actor saying that this is one of his top notch performances up till now and he has been answering to them whenever he can.
