A 10-Year-Old Young Innovator Invents Automatic Cleaning Machine To Avoid Scolding from Mom Over Spilled Juice!

Remember the times when you spilled fruit or juice on the floor as a child and got a whole packet of scolding from parents? What did you do when you spilled juice, apologized for or started crying right? But this incident of juice spiling to 10-year-old Arman Gupta was like falling of apple for Newton.

When he spilled some food, instead of waiting for his mom to come and scold like every time, he decided to do something about it and ended up making automatic mopping machine.

Armaan has been interested in Mechanic since long and seeing his enthusiasm, his parents enrolled him in
incubation design lab situated in his school, Somaiya Vidyavihar, Mumbai where he used to visit during vacations. Due to his willingness, he continued to go there when classes were over. His day started at 6 am and going to school till 3 pm and then spending time at the center till 7 pm, getting home and studying for an hour and go to sleep by 9:30 p.m.

Arman’s innovation, called The Mopping Machine, is designed to clean and simultaneously mop surfaces dry. With detachable sponges, the machine can be customized for different surfaces – under the table, the floor, and corners. Further, the mobile nature of the machine makes maintenance easy. “This can be used as a mopping machine in every household, office, or even the streets. It can also play a vital role in Prime Minister Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and reduce manual labor,” he says.

Through Maker Mela, an event for grassroots innovators from India, Arman hopes to connect with potential investors and corporates who can help him scale his basic model. Innovators attending the Maker Mela range from tech enthusiasts to crafters, educators, engineers, artists, members from science clubs, students, and even commercial exhibitors. Arman is the youngest innovator there.

We wish this young innovator all the best for his work in future.
