In UP’s Unnao, a 16-yr-old girl had accused of BJP lawmaker Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brother Atul Singh Sengar of raping her last year. After the girl’s complaint, her father was brutally beaten by Sengar’s brother and his men last week, but instead of admitting him into a hospital, the 50-yr-old was put in a custody on a complaint filed by his daughter’s alleged rapists.
The father of the girl died of shock and septicemia, as the postmortem reports suggest.
On Sunday evening, he was taken to a District hospital after complaining of abdominal pain, where he died yesterday. The autopsy report said that a perforation in the intestine led to infection and death.
“When the patient was brought here, his intestine had been damaged due to a colon rupture. Following an infection, he went into shock and later passed away. As per our investigation, the cause of death is shock and septicemia due to peritonitis and ascending colon perforation,” Chief Medical Officer (CMO) SP Chaudhary said.
The whole incident came to light after a 16-yr-old girl from Unnao, Uttar Pradesh tried to kill herself outside UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home in Lucknow. On the same day, the girl’s family had sent a handwritten letter.
Whenever her family tried to file an FIR, they were threatened, and last week Sengar’s brother Atul, thrashed her father. Later, the father was arrested and sent to jail.
Sengar’s brother, Atul was arrested this morning on charges of assault on the father of the teen last Tuesday, after Yogi Adityanath’s promise of strict action. Four of his associates were taken into custody yesterday. While six cops, including two police officers and four constables, have already been suspended. A special investigating team will soon be questioning Sengar.
Meanwhile, the victim, who has just lost her father, pleads for justice for her and now her father also. She said, “They killed my father. Why wasn’t Kuldeep Singh Sengar arrested? I don’t know why his brother was arrested? I demand they be hanged till death. They’ve made my life miserable. I want justice.”
To our no surprise, the accused, Kuldeep Singh Sengar has dismissed all the allegations upon him saying that, “these low-level people are trying to frame me.”
He also rubbished any talk of his resignation. “Just because my name is being taken, should I resign? These allegations are all totally false. The family is trying to malign me. For a year, they have been running a campaign against me on Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp,” he said.
So Mr Adityanath, any explanation on the innocent teen’s father’s death? As things seem crystal clear to us, we hope the girl gets justice soon.
