The 90’s and early 2000’s in India especially when it comes to the music industry was extremely active and impressive with individual artists as well as bands doing exceedingly well just coming out with the singles’ or even albums, be it any genre of music, pop or even rock. The music industry was absolutely killing it.
Keep in mind the system at that time MTV channel was all about music and not reality shows.
Well if we discuss some individuals artists as well bands that audiences dearly miss. Here are some tried and refused production that only 90’s kids will remember as the definition of cool was different at that time:
ARYANS
One of the most popular in the 90’s and have sadly disappeared from the commercial music industry and known for the hits songs such as Aankhon Mein, and Kho Gaye Kahan. The band was known for their disdain towards Bollywood music and how it crippled the music industry and have not come with more beautiful classics.
BOMBAY VIKINGS
The 90’s Bombay Vikings are a popular group that combines Indian pop music and classical music formed in 1994. The band was found by Neeraj Shridhar, Oscar Söderberg, and Mats Nordenborg and became popular with remixes of old Bollywood hits such as Kya Soorat Hai, Woh Chali, and Chod Do Anchal.
SHWETA SHETTY
Shweta is an Indian pop singer known for her albums and for her contributions to Bollywood film soundtracks. She is married to a German, Christian Brandt and now lives in Hamburg, Germany.
Her first album, Johnny Joker, was a moderate success. She was also featured in Hans Raj’s song “Totte Totte”.
A Band Of Boys
The 90s band of cuties stole our hearts with their very first album release Yeh Bhi Woh Bhi in 2002. They created a new image for pop in the country. But their first failed stint in 2003 was Gori and disappeared soon.
EUPHORIA
Most iconic band of 90’s and 2000’s led by Palash Sen created in 1988 and it took years to come out with the smash hit the studio album room in 1998. Maeri, Aana Meri Gali, and Mehfuz are their favorite songs.
SILK ROUTE
Rockstar’s voice Mohit Chauhan was a part of this band. Mohit was the lead singer in the band along with his friends Atul Mittal, Kem Trivedi, and Kenny Puri. The band is loved for Dooba-Dooba song from “Boondein” album. And also Pehchaan album’s song.
Go and search for these songs and have a refreshing day!
