For quite some time, reports have been doing rounds that Kareena Kapoor may be a part of the Rakesh Sharma biopic with Shahrukh Khan in the lead, titled ‘Salute’. Reportedly, Shahrukh has replaced Aamir Khan in the movie and Priyanka Chopra was first approached to play the female lead but she declined it.
However, today at the trailer launch of Kareena’s Veere di Wedding, media persons asked the actress whether the rumours stand true to which she replied, “Whatever film I choose, I will announce about it.” Which basically means that soon we would get to see the actress opposite King Khan.
About reports claiming SRK replacing Aamir in the film, a source had earlier revealed, “Aamir strongly recommended the Rakesh Sharma biopic to Shah Rukh as a script worth walking that extra mile for. More so, since Aamir intends to devote a substantial period of his time to a very dear project of his, presumably the Mahabharat, and has stopped accepting any other assignments currently.”
The source added, “King Khan has asked Aamir to help him out with the research he did for the film when he was supposed to do it. Knowing what a perfectionist Aamir is, he must have done detailed research and SRK will only benefit from that.”
SRK will soon start prepping up for the film in May after the actor wraps his shoot for Zero, starring opposite Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif.
A source revealed, “SRK will wrap Zero by April end, after which he will be busy for the next three months prepping up for his character in Salute. He will be doing his own research with his team and studying the nuances to play the astronaut. That’s why he’s taken a three-month break in between to devote himself fully to the biopic.”
