Tamannaah Bhatia is all set to receive the Award named Sridevi at the Zee Apsara Awards tonight. The Sridevi Award is named after Bollywood and south actress Sridevi who died late night on 24 February by accidental drowning in a bathtub.
Tamannaah who has also worked in both, the Hindi and South film industry, will be felicitated for her contribution to the cinema and as a deserving woman achiever in Hyderabad today.
Sharing her excitement, Tamannaah said in a statement, “Sridevi was someone I looked up to during my formative years in the industry. It is such a privilege to be presented an award named after her. I started out really young in the industry just like her and I understand that it takes decades to build a legacy”. She also played the lead role in the remake of Sridevi’s 1983 film “Himmatwala”.
Her upcoming projects include Kanne Kalaimaane, Naa Nuvve, Khamoshi, and Queen Once Again.
Last night Tamannaah also gave a beaming performance at the IPL’s Opening Ceremony of 2018.
Tamannaah made her debut in Telugu cinema with Sri and in Tamil cinema with Kedi in 2006 and now she is an established actress in both the film industry.
