Irrfan Khan is an ace personality name that has his own trustworthy and devoted admirer base. His movies boast of solid tales, good humour as he makes cautious choices when it comes to his movie projects.
At the present, the multi-talented star is in the UK as he is undergoing cure for a neuroendocrine tumour.
Irrfan’s latest flick Blackmail got released on April 06 and it made Rs 2.81 crore on its very first day.
Well known trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Blackमेल had a slow start in morning shows, but gathered momentum post evening at plexes [like most metro-centric movies]… Sat and Sun biz is crucial… Will give an idea of how strong it will sustain on weekdays… Fri ₹ 2.81 cr. India biz.”

On the other hand, trade analyst Girish Johar had discussed the actor’s appeal and the much-talked-about preview of the movie
He also said, “There is also a sympathy factor working. Over the years, Irrfan has been able to win quite a few loyal fans with his consistent performances. With the news of his ill health, these fans will definitely not want to miss his latest offering.”
Girish Johar also said, “Irrfan is a fabulous actor. His illness comes at an unfortunate time since he was at the peak of his career and was finally getting his fair share of recognition in the minds of audiences. But then if the Blackmail makers bring good content to the table, there will be no stopping its success,”
The Abhinay Deo directorial also features Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, and Omi Vaidya. The film got released on 1861 big screens all over the globe, out of which 1550 screens in the domestic zone.
In her movie appraisal, Shubhra Gupta had offered an average rating to the movie but had stated that the actor is, like always, the best part of this movie.
While talking about Irrfan previously, Abhinay Deo stated, “Irrfan’s character is shown as a regular, simple, middle-class guy who is running the rat race, paying EMIs and just making ends meet. He wants to do something but ends up doing nothing because that’s the fate of the middle-class man.”
An actor like Irrfan doesn’t necessarily need iconic dialogues to give an electrifying performance and Deo made the maximum out of the opportunity as he cast Irrfan in a role of a man who doesn’t talk as much. “We know all our blockbusters thrive on incredible lines by the protagonist and I wanted to turn the tables. Of course, I had one of the best guys to do it with, Irrfan, who conveys so much through his eyes and through his expressions. So I was bold enough to take that risk of saying that my protagonist is going to speak the least in the entire scene,” Deo shared.
Let us pray for Irrfan’s good health and hope that he carries on working for decades to come.
