Songs are one of the most integral parts of our psyche. It can heal our mood, make us feel like we’re in a movie of our own and have us dancing to its beats till our legs fall off. However, while most of us stick to humming our favourite tunes, some talented individuals tend to make a cover of it. And while it’s the best way to pay homage to one’s idols, only a few manage to capture the essence of the original song. One such instance is this Rubab-strumming man from Pakistan.
In a video posted on the Facebook page, Gilgit-Baltistan the Land of Beauty, a man can be seen with a Rubab on the banks of Saifullah Lake along with his friends. While his warm-up itself sounds amazing, once he starts playing, it becomes clear which Bollywood melody he’s performing.
There’s something oddly calming about the reverberating sound of the Rubab and the water flowing beside him. And this little music video, if you can call it that, has a touch of nostalgia if you are a 90’s kid and grew up watching Akshay Kumar chasing around Shilpa Shetty while singing ‘Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hai Dil Se‘.

Netizens were blown away by his short but heartfelt performance, and they showered him with praises.
1. It’s everything you can ask for.
2. A true gem of a musician.
3. Feels like my soul has been cleansed.
4. Perfect combo.
5. Word!
Bollywood produces many numbers of songs but it is certainly charming to see them being played with such heart across the border. I hope music producers recognise this talented Rubab player and sign billions of record deals with him.
